PUPPIES
The Puppy Experience
Our puppies are lovingly raised in our home. They are provided many experiences on their journey to becoming well-adjusted pets. They are exposed to the usual household sounds and smells, such as the vacuum cleaner, cooking, the television, music (Mark is a musician, so lots of experience with this!) In addition, we systematically expose them to a myriad of experiences such as obstacles like tunnels, slides and a variety of toys, hats, masks, umbrellas, car rides and much more. We use Gayle Watkins Avidog temperament testing to match them with the perfect home! They will also have experience with being bathed and groomed. We begin early getting them used to the sound and vibration of grooming clippers! Poodles will have a life-time of grooming and early positive experiences are crucial.
They begin weaning from their mother's milk around three weeks and are fed a diet of softened high quality kibble. The earliest we will allow them to go to their new homes is eight weeks; however we will hold them up to ten weeks. Early puppy socialization with their litter-mates is important for their development.
Approved visitors are welcome to visit us after the puppies are six weeks old. We love sharing our puppies, but due to the puppies delicate immune systems any earlier is an unnecessary health risk. However, we will be sure to share lots of videos of the puppies from the first moments of their births to the day when they leave us to begin their lives in their new homes!
Deposit holders are welcome to visit earlier with certain precautions, such as washing hands and removing shoes.
Our next litter is planned with our red dam, Cheyenne, for the spring of 2025.
Contract Information
Our puppies are sent home with a micro-chip inserted, de-wormed, and an AKC limited registration, which means the buyer does not have breeding rights and agrees to have his/her puppy spayed or neutered by adult age. They will have had a vet physical and received their first shot. Also included will be a blanket with the scent of their mom and litter-mates to help ease the transition, as well as a collar and leash, and a small bag of puppy kibble.
Genetic Health Guarantee: In addition, we offer a three year genetic health guarantee from date of sale of your puppy covering serious life threatening genetic disease.
Pricing: The price of our puppies varies but is not based on the color or gender of the puppy. The puppy price allows us to cover the overhead of producing quality puppies! Please feel free to contact us to discuss pricing of a specific litter.
Deposit policy: We require a $500 non-refundable deposit to hold a puppy, and the pups are held in the order the deposits are received on each litter. In the event we do not have a puppy for you in a specific litter, your deposit will be held in trust for the next litter.
Transporting: We do not ship puppies. However, we will allow you to carry them onto an airplane with you, not as cargo, if the airline will permit it. We can deliver puppies within a reasonable distance of our home or meet you part way.
